정지원 JiWon Jeong

정지원은 홍익대학교에서 예술학과를 전공하며 건축, 영화, 설치 등의 매체들에 관심가지며 이러한 형식들에 내포한 문법과 사상 그리고 문화에 대해 공부했다. 이로부터 수없이 발생하는 주관적이고 편협한 결론에 대한 다양한 해석 가능성의 지점을 드러내고, 새로운 사고와 관점을 받아들이는 과정을 탐구하고 있다. 이후 서울시립미술관 난지미술창작스튜디오 코디네이터로 재직하며 동시대 레지던시의 역할과 책임에 대해 생각하고 이와 관련해 차세대 아카이브가 기능하는 모습을 연구하고자 한다.

Jeong JiWon graduated from the Arts Department at Hongik University, with interest in various media including architecture, film, and installation, while studying the grammar, thoughts, and culture of such areas. From this, Jeong reveals the possibilities of understanding subjective interpretations in various angles, while researching the process of accepting new thoughts and perspectives. She is currently the coordinator at the Seoul Museum of Art’s Nanji Residency, examining the roles and responsibilities of the contemporary residency studio, and how the archive of the next-generation functions in this regard.
