EuYoung Hong
2016년 10월 런던 출판사 ’로우맨 & 리틀필드 인터내셔널’을 통해 ’피어-리뷰’ 영문 미술전문 서적인 〈The Spatial Politics of the Sculptural: Art, Capitalism and the Urban Space〉를 출간한 바 있다.
Through her three-dimensional structural works, EuYoung Hong has explored various ways of transforming space, matter, and human behaviors and thoughts in the process of capitalistic urbanization. Recently, on the technology of capital domination from spatial point of view, she has developed the invisible power of capitalism secret, which unifies, visualizes, and materializes society. The artist has been working on various types of stereoscopic and installation, travelling between London and Seoul, and has continued various activities through exhibition, residency, and program in domestic and foreign countries. She graduated from Ewha Womans University in 1998 and earned a Master’s degree in the department of sculpture at Iowa University in the U.S. in 2002 before earning a doctorate in art from Goldsmith University in London in December 2013. In October 2016, through Rowman & Littlefield International, a London publisher, she released the English version of ‘peer-review’ art professional publication called 〈The Spatial Politics of the Sculptural; Art, Capitalism, and the Urban Space〉.
